Oheb Sholom is a non-profit organization falling under the IRS’s rules as a 501 (c)(3) corporation. As such, your donations should be tax deductible. Please check with your tax advisor to be certain.
The following funds support the ongoing needs of the synagogue:
Arthur Hammel Fund: Provides support wherever it is most needed; primarily for capital improvements
Building Fund (AKA Maintenance and Capital Improvements Fund): Improves and maintains the Oheb Sholom facility
Cemetery Fund: Provides for perpetual care of Mt. Sinai Cemetery
General Operating Fund: Helps meet the day-to-day funding needs of the synagogue
Greater Temple Fund: Provides a limited supplement to dues income
Landscaping Fund: Maintains and enhances the beauty of Oheb Sholom’s grounds
Library Fund: Purchases new books and supports library maintenance
Music Fund: Supports the Student Cantor visits, choir and other music programs
Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund: Supports special projects as selected by the rabbi
Sondheim Floral Fund: Provides flowers for services
Torah Endowment Fund: Supports building improvements, select educational programs, and other worthwhile projects
