Set Up Dates: July 5-8 9am-3pm; July 11-14 9am-3pm
Sale Dates: July 17 8am-2pm; July 18 9am-12pm; July 19 9am-12pm
Have you heard of our Rummage Sale? It is Sisterhood’s largest annual fundraiser. It benefits our members, as well our neighbors in the Reading community. Gently used clothes and household items are sold at affordable prices, and the money raised is a substantial part of the annual contribution Sisterhood makes to support RCOS.
For two weeks in the summer, our social hall becomes the receiving room for goods donated by congregants. Volunteers help unload and sort the goods in preparation for the sale. Baked goods are donated just before the first sale day, and are sold during the event.
The Rummage sale is open to the public, and all of the goods are reasonably priced. Volunteers run the registers and assist customers with their purchases, as well as keep the display tables tidy so the next set of customers can shop more easily. After the sale, the remaining goods are packed up and donated to local charities.
There are many ways you can get involved. If you have items to donate, please bring them the weeks of July 5th or 11th. If you enjoy baking, please drop off baked goods during the donation days. If you are available to help before, during, or after the sale, please let us know. Our committee chair for this event is Adrienne Cardinal. Thank you to Adrienne and the many volunteers that make this event such a success each year. If you have not been involved in this event in the past, the Rummage sale is a great opportunity to have fun and help at the same time. We look forward to seeing you there!
